Flowering Plant Families - photo card set 2
$ 32.95
This set is a great way to introduce children to angiosperm families, the most useful framework for botany studies. It includes 48 color photo cards, quarter-page sized. The attractive photos show 14 families that represent the major lineages of angiosperms. There is a separate text card that tells the lineages of the plant and gives further information about the family. Background information for the teacher includes a phylogeny (tree diagram) for the flowering plants and a table of the traits of the families.
This set includes the following families: magnolia, arum, lily, grass, poppy, cactus, gooseberry, squash, bean, evening primrose, citrus, heather, morning glory, and bellflower.
After children have worked with these cards, they may wish to observe their local flowering plants and place them into their families. See the book list in the background information for help.
