Plant Kingdom Chart and Cards

$ 31.95

After children have seen the Tree of Life chart, they are ready to look at the plant kingdom in more depth. This plant kingdom chart follows the branches on the Tree of Life, the currently accepted classification. First, the plants are categorized as either bryophytes or vascular plants. Then the vascular plants are divided into lycophytes or euphyllophytes. The latter category holds the fern clade and the seed plants. Seed plants are divided into  gymnosperms and angiosperms (flowering plants). The main lineages of flowering plants, monocots and eudicots, are shown.

Contents of the full set:

  • The chart measures 17" x 26.5" and is printed on recyclable plastic paper. It is easy to roll and store, and the plastic is very durable. It doesn't need to be laminated. Information for the guiding adult is included.
  • Nineteen picture cards (2¼” x 3") copyright by InPrint for Children. These illustrate the currently recognized lineages of the plant kingdom. Children place the 19 plant picture cards on the chart with the help of text on the back and the name on the front. These are the cards from the plant kingdom chart from InPrint for Children, which was formerly available from Big Picture Science and Montessori Services.
  • A printable file for labels and text cards. Children can re-create the chart with the label cards provided, using the chart as a control of error. Text cards give children further information about each branch of the plant kingdom.

If you already own the previous Plant Kingdom chart and cards from InPrint for Children, you can buy the new chart without the picture cards. You will still receive the file for printing the sorting labels and text cards. Select "Plant Kingdom Chart without picture cards" from the pulldown menu.

Price includes U.S. shipping via media mail or standard mail. Contact us for faster shipping options. NOTE: the chart and cards are printed products that will be shipped. The file for printing the heading labels and text cards will be delivered digitally.
